Matt Cross & The One Night Band are a 3 piece semi-acoustic trio that have been playing at local venues throughout SLO. Stacy and I have a blast every time we go to their gigs. Even though were not avid dancers, we always find it fun and easy to get out and rip it up with Matt at the helm. These pics were taken at a recent performance at the Pelican Point in Pismo Beach. Follow Matt and the band on Facebook.

I shot Jeff and Lynnda’s wedding last year at the Holland Ranch in San Luis Obispo. Now with the addition of their newest family member and another due just around the corner they thought it would be a good time for some family photos. They chose San Simeon Cove, across the road from Hearst Castle as the location. A good call that was. The weather and majestic location all combined for a fun session. Enjoy.

Even though I don’t do a ton of family and kiddo photography sessions, I always consider it an honor when former wedding couples contact me to photograph their families. Such is the case with the super sweet Francis family. I photographed Gene and Tracy’s wedding a few years back and to my surprise they had twins. Gene Francis is an amazing artist here in San Luis Obispo. His paintings can be seen throughout the county as well as his art gallery downtown. Blessings to your precious family Gene and Tracy.

It’s always a treat to shoot Mountainbrook’s staff and family photos every year. Everyone is fun and easy to work with. This year was special as we recently relocated to our new church home, which sits upon a majestic mountaintop in San Luis Obispo. Stacy and I feel blessed in every way to be a part of Mountainbrook. Enjoy.

Portrait sessions are always so fun. Here we have Joshua and his mom, Maggie, who looks a lot like she could be Joshua’s sister. We chose Avila Valley as our shooting location, which is always full of color and fun backdrops. I had a wonderful time interacting with both Joshua and Maggie who were so much fun to hang with. I could tell from the time we spent together that Maggie and Joshua are blessed with a deep and loving relationship. Enjoy.

Brena and Liz are best friends, fun-loving, energetic and full of LIFE. Great subjects to photograph. We had too much fun strolling the streets of downtown SLO, exploring the many facets of light, color, texture and whimsical backdrops.

My approach to Portrait sessions is to simply let the day unfold naturally, encouraging my subjects to have fun and be themselves. Enjoy.

I had the opportunity to photograph Steve and Mickey’s wedding two years ago at Chapel Hill in Shandon. They have a cute addition to their family named Regan. Even though I don’t do a ton of family portraits I was honored to have done their wedding and now their family. Quite a cute one – I must say.

    David!

You’re the best! You are such a talented and thoughtful photographer. You made us feel so relaxed. Not only are you creative, but you know the technical aspect of lighting that will look best.

You always come HIGHLY recommended from us. God has blessed you with an amazing talent!

I photographed Amy Norton, at the See Canyon Fruit Ranch in Avila yesterday. As you can see Amy has beautiful eyes and a love for animals… especially ones with spots.
