Taking long walks on the beach on the Central Coast is always a favorite way for me to spend a relaxing afternoon. Yesterday, while my teen surfed I decided to head up the beach and explore the many coves that were exposed due to an extreme low tide. Having an inner gravitational pull towards rocks and the desire to balance them, I decided to have some fun. Below are a few images from my experience and the incredible sunset that followed. Enjoy.

Even though I don’t do a ton of family and kiddo photography sessions, I always consider it an honor when former wedding couples contact me to photograph their families. Such is the case with the super sweet Francis family. I photographed Gene and Tracy’s wedding a few years back and to my surprise they had twins. Gene Francis is an amazing artist here in San Luis Obispo. His paintings can be seen throughout the county as well as his art gallery downtown. Blessings to your precious family Gene and Tracy.

It’s always a treat to shoot Mountainbrook’s staff and family photos every year. Everyone is fun and easy to work with. This year was special as we recently relocated to our new church home, which sits upon a majestic mountaintop in San Luis Obispo. Stacy and I feel blessed in every way to be a part of Mountainbrook. Enjoy.

Andrea and Wesley are an amazingly sweet couple and quite cute as well. We had a fun time exploring a wide array of colorful and creative shooting locations in the Village of Arroyo Grande. I’m looking forward to shooting their wedding next year at the Cliffs Resort in Shell Beach.

Nicole and Jason were married at the Holland Ranch in San Luis Obispo. I was honored to have photographed Nicole’s sister’s wedding a few years ago and was delighted to photograph Nicole’s wedding as well. Nicole has a super sweet, fun-loving family, (who love to dance their hearts out by the way). See pics of Nicole’s grandfather burning the barn floor up below. Jamie Strand who manages the Ranch along with her family is always a complete joy to work with. They always go out of their way to provide a top-notch experience for all involved. The entire day was magical. The setting, the quality of light, the deep spirit of love, joy and celebration all combined to make for one of my more memorable weddings of this year. Selecting a few images among hundreds for this blog post was no easy task. Blessings to you Nicole and Jason and thank you for allowing me to capture your memories.

Justin and Michelle were simply a blast to spend a fun afternoon with. We started off shooting at a local vineyard while trying to compete with some fierce, afternoon wind. After that we thought it best to seek refuge at Avila beach. The winds were somewhat more subdued as we ended up with some fun shots in the midst of a warm, golden light. Yum, yum … my favorite time of the day. I’m looking forward to shooting their wedding at Vina Robles Winery in Paso Robles. Enjoy.

A secluded cove south of Cambria was the perfect setting for Jason and Shelese’s ceremony. The wispy winds and warm sunshine made for a memorable ceremony among family and close friends. Shooting weddings such as Jason and Shelese’s, in the midst of God’s amazing beauty and creation refreshes my spirit and helps me to reflect on how blessed I am to do what I do.
Enjoy.

After shooting Nicole and Mitch’s engagement photos last year, (see above photo banner), I knew this would be a fun wedding to photograph. The ceremony was held at the Mission in San Luis and the reception took place at the Cliffs Resort in Shell Beach. They were blessed with blue skies and brilliant sunshine. They also had an all-star cast of vendors.Floral design, Camilla Svensson Burns, Jack Hutchinson, videography, Bo Kramer was in full form as the evening’s DJ, Anna Fergus, Event coordinator. Christine Sedley and Christan Parreira photographed the wedding with me. They were a joy to shoot with, a huge thanks to you both. Enjoy.

Kelsey and Wesley were just too cute. I loved their free spirits and fun-loving personalities. We enjoyed walking the beach and town of Cayucos on a beautiful, sun-drenched day. I was delighted to have Lisa Maksoudian along to second shoot.
Enjoy.
